Brief Profile

MD (Clinical Microbiology) and MBBS from JIPMER, Pondicherry. Post-doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, and the University of Tokyo, Japan. Worked as a Consultant Scientist at the Inorganic and Physical Chemistry department, IISc, and as Research Scientist at the DHR Regional Virology Laboratory, JIPMER.


Interested in applying physical principles of complex variability (complexity) and deterministic chaos in understanding nutritional physiology and pathophysiology. Unraveling the relationship between nutrition, gut microbiome and host metabolism in the pathogenesis of chronic diseases is helpful in designing specific nutritional, prebiotic, and probiotic interventions. A transdisciplinary training across broad spectrum of clinical and basic sciences has endowed me an appreciation for this translational research.
