Brief Profile

Has done MBBS and MD (SPM) from Nagpur University. Had worked as Assistant Professor for 4 years in Medical College Nagpur. Presently working as Scientist E in the Public Health, NIN, Hyderabad. Areas of interest are public health nutrition, nutrition of under 5 year children, nutrition of adolescent girls and pregnant & lactating women, nutrition related chronic non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes etc. Involved in proposal writing, design of study, recruitment, training, execution of survey and report writing. Completed more than 20 projects of which 3 as PI. Had published 36 articles related to nutrition in various national and international peer reviewed journals of which 16 paper as first author, 4 papers as corresponding authors and remaining as co-authors. Published 3 articles in book chapter. Had worked in tribal areas of north-eastern states on nutritional status of women and children and prevalence of HTN & diabetes and bio-diversity. Attended various national and International conferences and presented paper. Involved in nutrition intervention project to improve nutritional status of vulnerable population and also in hypertension risk reduction project funded by ICMR.
